October 10 – 17 five students from Chiari high school “Einaudi” with their teacher Marina Valotti had the opportunity to travel abroad. They joined the project BETA “Bringing Europe Together through Art”. The art was a key-word of this meeting and a union of European cultures. The event was held in the Czech Republic in a small town Radikov close to Olomouc. There were presented youngsters from Serbia, Turkey, Portugal and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program Erasmus Plus is oriented on young people between 15 and 30 years who have some knowledge of English, because this language is the only one which is used during activities.
The participants were accommodated in a local hostel, where they could spend all their time together. During the first days youngsters were involved in different name games to know each other better and meet the different cultures, ages and level of English communication. The next three days the participants from every country got a chance to present to young people an explanation, a reflection, problems and possible solutions of some topics; for example: integration in a new group, methods of learning, tolerance and respect.
The last days were dedicated to some special activities like painting, collage, theatre and animation. All mentioned above let the participants get some adventures in the art-world. Also during the last days we got a chance to visit some cities like Prague and Olomouc which have a rich architectural art. We, as the participants, can say, that we improved a lot of skills and learnt a lot of new things, which we can use as in school lessons as in the future.
