Simone, a student of the language faculty of University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia, is the only Italian participant selected for the training course “The Power of the World Poetry Slam for fighting social inequality” promoted by Youmore Morcelli Giovani which will take place in Potsdam and Berlin, Germany from 13 to 21 of November. “In total this initiative has been joined by twenty European countries, one participant from each country – said Justina Krauledaitė, a project manager of Youmore Morcelli Giovani. Simone from Lumezzane intends to improve his knowledge of German staying in Berlin and Potsdam for 10 days and also to get better his level of English during the course activities.
The project approaches youngsters enrolled in poetic creativity to know and fight against social inequalities and to promote inclusion practices through the dialogue. It’s also offered to participants the opportunity to become “slammer” through performances of poetry declamation in public, even of verses of their own composition. The contest “Poetry Slam”, with a wide choice of poetic genres, is an effective tool of literary knowledge and performance targeted, in this case, to pay attention to social inequalities and to be tollerant towards others “.Participation in the training course “The Power of the World Poetry Slam for fighting social inequality”, which requires the knowledge of basic level of English, provides the full coverage of costs of meals and accommodation and the reimbursement of 100% of the travel costs.
