Second stage of training course “InFormal” in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. Presented and appreciated presentation “Around the World in 80 days: Lithuania” in CG 2000 with youngsters from 3rd year of Secondary school

By Justina Krauledaitė

From 6 to 14 of December I participated in the second stage of “InFormal” training course in the city of Hradec Králové in Czech Republic. This was already the second meeting for about thirty trainers coming from Italy, Turkey, Portugal, Czech Republic, Greece, Macedonia, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and Germany. Me, even though I am Lithuanian, together with Fabiola from Napoli, were representatives from Italy. This second phase of the training course is a continuation after the first part in Rostov the Great in Russia in September in 2015 where the participants were learning about new informal educational methods.
Justina in Rep. CecaFrom September to December each of the participants in autonomous way had to develop an educational type of activity by applying in practice innovative informal methods which allow more efficient integration of youngsters, group forming and helping to raising self-esteem. On 21st of November I have met around twenty youngsters of 3rd year of Secondary school and made a presentation “Around the world in 80 days: Lithuania”. The meeting took place in Oratorio CG 2000 together with the priest don Pierluigi Chiarini. During the meeting I had a chance to present my home country – Lithuania. The youngsters were keen on the new way of presentation, instead of usual Power Point slides, it was showed to them by using Prezi, a free software that allows to make creative presentations and catch attention of the audience. During my interactive presentation I talked about Lithuanian traditions, “second religion” – national sport basketball, twelve traditional dishes on Christmas Eve’s dinner table, in honor of twelve apostles. At the end of this “virtual trip” into Lithuania I prepared a quiz to check how attentive my audience was and later, with the help of CG 2000 educators’ help and approval, I proposed youngsters to prepare different collages how they imagine a citizen of the world should be like. The youngsters were divided into five groups according to different kind of sports: each participant had to pick up a small piece of paper where was written one type of a sport (basketball, football, gold, swimming and tennis) and had to find his or her group by imitating sport without speaking.
I must say that the presentation about Lithuania was very successful also in Czech Republic! I fully reached my objectives by using informal methods step by step and carefully planning the activities. The informal education provides not only new methods and approaches for youngster but also aims to raise the quality of work through public speaking and improvement of self-esteem. In addition, contacts with other trainers and project managers, which I have met in Czech Republic, allowed me to meet proposals of different interesting destinations in Greece, Turkey, Russia, France and others. In the future Youmore Morcelli Giovani intends to collaborate with new partners from these countries.
In particular I have learned about the movement “No Hate Speech”, a very interesting project coordinated by my Ukrainian colleague Katerina in the Ukraine. It is the initiative of The Council of Europe to raise awareness among young people against hateful speech online which includes intolerance and violence against different groups of people according to their gender, religious, cultural differences and bullying.
In spring 2016 there will be held a new training course in Portugal dedicated to coaching topic – a training strategy that enhances the potential of each individual during personal development process. I have to add that for this training course in Czech Republic besides living costs and meals, all my travel expenses 100 % were covered and reimbursed. This opportunity of the training course allows to bring Europe closer to the reality of Chiari. For this experience I would like to thank Youmore Morcelli Giovani and a group of adolescents and their educators from Oratorio CG 2000.
