”All participants, accredited at the Rome Convention, such as the local Eurodesk Agency of Chiari, Youmore Morcelli Giovani – said Sona Arevshatyan – were divided within the “IdeasLab” workshops in order to promote new proposals for the young people across the territory. Delegates from all Italian regions have been divided into four different homogeneous groups where we discussed about our local experiences in order to bring our contribution in terms of innovation, effectiveness and also in terms of costs involved for the experiences of the international youth exchanges. Within the group of Youmore Morcelli Giovani of Chiari we were about ten participants, including the representatives of Eurodesk Agencies in Sardinia and Abruzzo. The proposal of our group had a very positive impact and was the one selected by the Youth National Agency! As a representative of Youmore Morcelli Giovani, I have personally developed and presented an initiative which has been found interesting and innovative: every Italian young person is called to make a short video of their city or of their own reality of belonging in order to ask and, at the same time, to offer hospitality to another young person and so, to encourage the exchange opportunities throughout the country. The proposal was not only considered new, but also engaging on a personal level for those concerned, with an element of reciprocity rated highly by the Youth National Agency that intends to present within the EU the implementation of the “Youth Table” project, in order to promote it in the various local realities at least twice a month in the presence of a reference councilor for Youth Policies. I was also interviewed by the MTV and the organizers have provided all the participants with useful gadgets – picture frames, USB devices, and diaries – all branded with the official logo of the Youth Week. We tasted the specialties of Roman cuisine in Testaccio and even this was an altogether rewarding experience! Towards the ending, the President of the Youth National Agency, GiacomoD’Arigo, has personally thanked all the participants and stated that, thanks to our creative and inventive contribution, synergies may arise in dialogue between the territory and the institutions through fruitful collaborations in order to invite young people to active participation and development of an open civic duty in an European perspective.
